Welding prerequisites for ultrasonic welding machines - Design of plastic parts

The structural design of plastic parts must first consider the following points:

① size of the weld (i.e., to consider the required strength)

② whether the need for watertight, airtight

③ Whether the appearance needs to be perfect

Avoidance of melting of plastic or spillage of composite material.

⑤ Suitability for weld head processing.

Welding quality can be obtained by controlling the following points:

① Material

② Structure of the plastic part

③ Position and design of welding line

④ Size of welding surface

⑤ Position and tightness of the upper and lower surfaces.

⑥ Contact surface between welding head and plastic part

⑦ Smooth welding path

⑧ Bottom mold support

In order to obtain a perfect and repeatable welding method, three main design directions must be followed:

① The two surfaces in contact must be small enough to concentrate the required energy and minimize the total energy required (i.e., splice time) to complete the weld.

② Find a suitable fixing and alignment method, such as; plastic parts of the joint hole, step or enterprise mouth and so on.

(iii) The welding surfaces around the joint interface must be uniform and in close contact with each other. If possible, the contact surface as much as possible in the same plane, so that the energy conversion to maintain consistency.

 

Ultrasonic welding machine should first ensure that the injection mold is conducive to ultrasonic welding machine welding, only then can achieve high welding requirements, so ultrasonic welding welding premise is the design of the injection mold. Good injection mold is a necessary condition for welding.
